Tara Wigley

After a decade in publishing, Tara went to the Ballymaloe cookery school in Ireland for three months with her then-18 month old twins (and their Bosnian dog). Soon after graduating from Ballymaloe, in 2010, Tara started working as Yotam Ottolenghi’s writing partner and has been with him ever since. PLENTY MORE was their first book together and, since then, Tara has led on the writing of the multiple award winning THE NOPI COOKBOOK, SWEET, SIMPLE and FLAVOUR. In 2020, Tara co-authored FALASTIN, which won the 2021 Fortnum & Mason cookbook of the year. In addition to the books, Tara writes the weekly Ottolenghi Guardian column and the monthly column in the New York Times.

Tara’s twins are now teenagers and, along with their little brother, have grown up to the smell of charred aubergines. HOW TO BOIL AN EGG (AND OTHER CULINARY CONFUSIONS) and WHAT’S THE DIFFERNECE BETWEEN A COOKIE AND A BISCUIT (AND OTHER CULINARY CONUNDRUMS) are Tara’s first solo author books. They are both collections of rhymes about food, many of which Tara shares on Instagram @tara.wigley
